Step Ahead Egg Pie Recipe

We love this egg pie at Step Ahead! Let us know how you get on with the recipe.


  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 6 eggs
  • 1 zucchini, grated
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1½ cups grated cheese (optional)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • A handful of chopped veges (optional)
  • A handful chopped bacon or ham (optional)
  • Pinch of baking powder


  • Grease and line a flan dish with the puff pastry and set aside.
  • Beat eggs in a bowl.
  • Grate zucchini and carrot. Add to egg. Add other vegetables, meat or cheese if using.
  • Mix together.
  • Add baking powder.
  • Mix together.
  • Pour mixture into dish and sprinkle the rest of the cheese over the top.
  • Bake for 25 minutes at 180 degrees celsius.

Note: Cubes of feta mix through is yummy. Adding sunflower and/or pumpkins seeds to mixture and sprinkling over the top is also a great addition to this pie.
